Lexington 'Flying Pigs' baseball announces the addition of Coach Nicholas Musgrave

The Lexington Flying Pigs proudly announce the addition of Nicholas Musgrave to their coaching staff as Assistant Coach. With a wealth of experience both on and off the field, Musgrave brings a dynamic skill set and a passion for developing young talent to the Flying Pigs organization.

The Lexington Flying Pigs are a Collegiate Wood Bat Baseball Team proudly competing in the Old North State League. Established in 2019, the team has quickly become a beloved fixture in the Lexington community, providing top-tier baseball entertainment and fostering a strong sense of community pride.

Musgrave's coaching journey spans eight seasons at the high school level, culminating in his recent tenure as Head Coach at Central Davidson. Prior to leading the program at Central, Musgrave served as an assistant coach, honing his coaching prowess and fostering a winning culture.

A product of the local baseball scene himself, Musgrave's roots run deep in the Lexington community. As a player, he showcased his talents at nearby Central Davidson High School and Post 8 Legion. His collegiate career saw him excel on the mound and at middle infield positions, ultimately specializing as a pitcher during his final years. Musgrave's achievements on the field include holding seven program pitching records at Virginia Intermont (V.I.), where he left an indelible mark on the program.

Off the field, Musgrave is a devoted family man, residing in Lexington with his wife, Brooke, their 16-year-old son, Connor, and their two-year-old daughter, Ellarie. His commitment to both his family and the baseball community exemplifies his character and dedication.

In his new role with the Lexington Flying Pigs, Musgrave will work alongside Head Coach Jason Beck and Pitching Coach John Maine to elevate the team's performance and nurture a culture of excellence. His expertise and leadership will be invaluable assets as the Flying Pigs continue to make strides in the Collegiate Wood Bat Baseball circuit.

"We are thrilled to welcome Nicholas Musgrave to the Lexington Flying Pigs family," said Head Coach Jason Beck. "His experience, passion, and dedication to the game make him an ideal addition to our coaching staff. We look forward to the positive impact he will have on our players and the continued success of our program."
