Yesterday Wants Its Stuff Back

Today's T.E.A.  is poured from the pages of “Pack Light: Packing With Your Purpose in Mind”

Hello, this is Yesterday.

When you woke up today, what did you bring with you that belonged to me? Your yesterday could literally have been yesterday — or it could be last month, last decade, your last job, or your last relationship. Yesterday is simply your past. I gave you the opportunity to start fresh. I gave you the chance to start new. So why are you still carrying the same old stuff? It belongs to me and yet, here we are.

Yesterday did have a purpose.

Yesterday is comprised of both the joys and the pains of life. Today requires that you ask yourself, " What do I need to take from yesterday to edify my life? What lessons do I need to learn? What is the true purpose of past situations? How can past situations help me grow now and in the future? Once you answer those questions, it is up to you to leave the rest behind. It’s yesterday’s baggage.

Some things just shouldn’t go with you to your tomorrow.

It is your right and responsibility to negotiate and renegotiate your circumstances until they are conducive to your mental, spiritual, and physical health and well-being. There are moments that are not worth holding onto and will become a hindrance as you go and grow. Pack light. Carrying hurt, pain, guilt, remorse, and unforgiveness is heavy. They make life slow, lethargic, and crippled by the weight of their baggage.

Forgive everyone of everything, starting with yourself.

Yesterdays are designed to train and equip you for a purpose not harm and hinder you. Learn the lessons. Use the tools. Exercise the skills. Leave everything else behind.

Let yesterday keep what today doesn’t need.
