City of Lexington Names David A. Lambert Assistant City Manager
LEXINGTON, NC — The City of Lexington has named David A. Lambert as Assistant City Manager. Lambert joined the City on June 1 and reports to City Manager Johnnie Taylor, helping lead day-to-day operations, intergovernmental coordination, and long-range planning efforts for the community.
Lambert brings experience in state, county, and municipal government, with a background in economic development, infrastructure planning, and intergovernmental collaboration. Most recently, he served as Director of Strategic Projects for the North Carolina Department of Commerce, where he coordinated major economic development, workforce, and infrastructure initiatives involving state and local partners.
Prior to that role, Lambert served as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Economic Development for the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Director of Moore County Solid Waste, and Town Manager for Robbins, North Carolina. During his tenure in Robbins, he helped lead the town's financial recovery and secured state and federal funding for infrastructure improvements and downtown revitalization projects.
Lambert holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is also a Certified Zoning Official through the North Carolina Association of Zoning Officials.

"His ability to work across state, county, and municipal lines will be a real asset to our team and to the residents we serve."
Lambert said he is excited to join the Lexington team and contribute to the city's continued growth.

According to city officials, Lambert's appointment is part of the City's ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership capacity and support strategic planning initiatives as Lexington continues to grow.
