Big Lots on Winston Road in Lexington Set to Reopen This Week

The location is part of a third group of store reopenings in 2025, following closures that occurred during Big Lots’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The reopenings are the result of a deal the company reached with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners.

In April, nine stores reopened under this agreement. As part of the deal, Variety Wholesalers — the company behind retail chains such as Roses and Maxway — is acquiring hundreds of Big Lots locations. Although ownership is shifting behind the scenes, the stores will continue to operate under the familiar Big Lots name and branding.

“The Big Lots! stores opening in May show our continued commitment to providing the best value to our customers with apparel for the family, everyday needs for the home, kitchen, and pantry plus a huge selection of famous brands,” Lisa Seigies, president and CEO of Variety Wholesalers, said in an earlier press release. “I couldn’t be prouder of the dedicated team who made it possible for us to serve these communities again!”
