Business News: Lexington's Best Pizza to open in Uptown Lexington

In the upcoming weeks a new restaurant, Lexington’s Best Pizza, is set to enter the uptown market.

Although Lexington is small, it boasts a wide variety of local businesses and storefronts offering delicious artisanal goods. From handmade crafts and locally brewed beer to specially-made baked goods, Lexington’s flourishing market offers so much to choose from. 

 Owned by Tonya Doggett, Lexington’s Best Pizza is an up-and-coming restaurant located at 5 East First Street that is excited to offer specialty pizza locally.

The restaurant will offer New York City-style pizza with a fun twist on the classic toppings and combinations with toppings named after infamous gangsters such as El Chapo, John Dillinger and Al Capone which lend an exciting and unique flare to the menu and their trademark hand-tossed crust. Doggett boasts about the crispy exterior and soft, pillowy interior of the crust.

 In addition, the restaurant will carry dishes such as stromboli, salads and chicken wings, as well as a wide selection of desserts like cannolis, tiramisu, cheesecake, and a unique apple pizza. Upon opening, Lexington’s Best Pizza will be serving artisanal soda with plans to eventually offer alcohol.

Doggett is already an established local business owner that you might know from Bagels and More on Main. 

Bagels and More on Main is a wonderful shop to get delectable bagels and other delicious goods., including fresh-baked treats including coffee cake, Lexington’s Best Pizza will be located behind Bagels and More on Main.

 Doggett has had plans in the works for over a year. Many renovations were required and complications arose along the way, so Lexington’s Best Pizza is truly proving to be a labor of love. 

With the opening of a second business, Doggett will be able to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. wants to provide the community with a friendly and welcoming space by bringing people together to offer them an authentic taste of New York’s world famous pizza and tempting desserts in a space that appeals to all.
