Senior’s Day at the Davidson County Agricultural Fair Canceled

Senior’s Day at the Davidson County Agricultural Fair, scheduled for September 24, 2026, has been officially canceled because of heavy rainfall, muddy conditions and continued wet weather. They will open regular hours pending the rain.

Davidson County Senior Services and the Lexington Kiwanis Club made the decision with safety in mind, particularly for older adults and volunteers. The fairgrounds were closed September 23 because of the continuing wet conditions.

The event was originally scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the Davidson County Fairgrounds, 400 Greensboro St. Extension in Lexington. The free event for adults age 55 and older was to include health checks, entertainment and other activities.

Organizers cited muddy parking and walking areas, along with the forecast for additional wet weather, as reasons for the cancellation.
