Burnett "Cotton" Lockhart Jr of Davidson County NC passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 in High Point, NC

Cotton was born on May 6th, 1948, in Isaban, West Virginia, to the late Burnett Lockhart Sr and Jessie Myrtle Cline Lockhart.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his 3 children Charlie Lockhart, Doc Lockhart and Tina Lockhart, one step-daughter Melody Jo Leonard Franco, 3 brothers Randy Lockhart, Clinton Lockhart and Tony Lockhart, 3 GrandChildren Chris Lockhart, Corey Lockhart and Kimberly Lockhart.

Cotton is survived by 2 brothers, Billy Ray Lockhart (Patricia), Richard Lockhart, and a sister, Virginia Brown, a life-long daughter-in-law, Cindy Lockhart, a step-son, Jimmy Swicegood, 12 Grandchildren, 29 Great-grandchildren, and 7 Great-great-grandchildren.

Although these surviving siblings have decided not to host a funeral at this time. We, the Grandchildren, have decided to host a Celebration of Life to remember the man who made it all possible for us to be here today.

The Celebration of Life will be held at Transformation Church Fellowship Hall, 455 Freewill Circle, Lexington, NC 27295, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 2pm to 5pm, for anyone who would like to attend.
