Denton's former fire chief has been arrested and charged with fraud for allegedly falsifying training and certification records, according to the North Carolina Insurance Commission.

The Denton Public Library will host a free outdoor concert featuring the 208th Army Reserve Band on Thursday, June 26 at 6:00 PM. Community members are invited to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of patriotic and popular music on the library lawn at 310 W Salisbury Street.
Trisha Garner appointed to Davidson County Schools Board of Education
Garner has once again placed 4th in the race for three open school board seats. This mirrors her strong showing in the November 2024 election, where she also finished fourth out of 14 candidates—just 800 votes short of a win.
Despite not securing an elected seat, Board Chair Nick Jarvis noted that the community had effectively chosen Garner when she was appointed to fill Ashley Carroll’s vacant seat. Jarvis said, “I felt like the citizens picked her”
