Davidson County Board of Health to Review Community Health Priorities, Budget Updates April 14

Davidson County Board of Health to Review Community Health Priorities, Budget Updates April 14

The Davidson County Board of Health will meet Tuesday, April 14 at 3 p.m. in the Davidson County Health Department Boardroom, with a full agenda that highlights both routine business and key updates on child health, community needs, and department performance.

The meeting will begin with welcome remarks, introductions, and announcements, followed by approval of the agenda and an opportunity for public comment.

Board members are expected to vote on a consent agenda that includes approval of minutes from the March 10 meeting and closed session, along with a financial report. These items are typically approved in a single motion unless a board member or citizen requests separate discussion.

Updates from county leadership and department staff will follow. A commissioner’s report will provide an overview of county-level developments, while the health director’s report will include program updates across the department.

Under old business, Chairman Dr. Ellington will lead a discussion on requests for future agenda topics.

Several reports and presentations are scheduled under new business, including:

  • A Child Fatality Protection Team report presented by Mary Lou Collett

  • A Child Health Report Card, also presented by Collett

  • Findings from the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment, presented by Janna Walker

  • A budget update from Corinne Bates

  • A 2025 Davidson County Health Department year-in-review presentation by Lillian Koontz

The meeting will conclude with adjournment following the discussion of these items.

According to the notice, the meeting is open to the public. Individuals needing accommodations to participate are asked to contact the health director’s office at least 24 hours in advance.

The April session reflects an ongoing effort by local health officials to evaluate community health trends, review departmental performance, and plan for future priorities across Davidson County.
