Identify and address the barriers to physical activity in Active Living Every Day

Lexington, NC – Active Living Every Day is an evidence-based program designed to address the root causes of inactivity rather than simply participating in exercise. Using facilitated group-based problem-solving methods to integrate physical activity into everyday living, participants learn the skills they need to become and stay physically active. The Davidson County Senior Center in Lexington (555-B West Center St. Ext.) will host the program on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 to 10 a.m. January 6 -February 12 at no charge to county residents age 55 and older. Preregistration is required by January 1.

The Active Living Every Day program helps to: 1. Identify and address barriers to physical activity, 2. Increase self-confidence about becoming physically active, 3. Develop social support, 4. Create realistic goals and rewards for physical activity. This evidence-based program includes (12) 1-hour classes presented to a small group of 8-15 participants led by a trained coach. Spaces are limited, so register today.
