Ease on down the road: FREE Iconic films start on July 23rd

The Black Butterfly Network of Lexington's inaugural “Summer Classic Film Series.” The movies that will be presented throughout the series will be iconic Black films such as The Wiz, and Mahogany. The series of films will be held at Bull City Ciderworks - Lexington located in the Depot District at 299 S. Railroad Street, Lexington, NC 27292.

The Wiz is a 1978 American musical adventure fantasy film produced by Universal Pictures and Motown Productions and released by Universal Pictures starring Diana Ross. Based on a Tony Award-winning stage musical, the story follows a Harlem kindergarten teacher who's swept up in a blizzard and lands in an Oz-like urban city.

The dates are Saturday, July 23, 2022, and Saturday, August 20, 2022, gates will open at 6:00 pm, and the movie will begin playing at sunset. Admission to attend the event will be free for all attendees. Food, art and beverages are available for purchase. Bring blankets, lawn chairs, to experience a movie under the stars.
