Jones named DCS Teacher of the Year

Rachel Jones, a third grade teacher at Friedberg Elementary, has been named the Davidson County Schools Teacher of the Year for 2021.  

Jones began her career with DCS as a teacher assistant at Friendship Elementary in 2012-2013. For the 2013- 2014 school year, she served as a teacher assistant at Midway Elementary. Jones graduated from High Point  University with a degree in elementary education in May 2014 and was hired as a third grade teacher at  Friedberg in July 2014.  

Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Lowell Rogers told Jones, “It is always an honor to be named  Teacher of the Year, but to be Teacher of the Year in a year like this one is truly a testament to what a great  teacher you are.”
