Holly Hill Memorial Park Celebrate memories with Time Capsule Ceremony
Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville marked America's 250th anniversary on Sunday, July 19th, with a special community Time Capsule Interment Ceremony.
Members of the community were invited to contribute meaningful items representing their families, organizations, our local community, and life in America today. The time capsule was officially sealed and interred at Holly Hill, where it will remain for 250 months before being opened in 2047, during Holly Hill Memorial Park's 100th anniversary year.
The event brought our community together to celebrate this historic milestone while preserving a snapshot of life today for the generations who will call our community home more than 20 years from now.
Megan Anderson, Owner and General Manager of Holly Hill Memorial Park, shared the following:
"Cemeteries exist to celebrate lives and honor the history of the people who make up a community. Our time capsule continues this tradition in a tangible way that will connect our current generation to the people living here in a bit over 20 years. Some of us will be here when it's opened, but some of us will not. Holly Hill will always be here as the heart of our community.
As the owners of Holly Hill, we are excited to celebrate America in her 250th year of freedom and honored to have the privilege of serving our community with events like this and others."
