Lexington Farmers Market begins Saturday May 4

Lexington Farmers Market begins Saturday May 4

The Lexington Farmers Market (LFM) opens for the season Saturday, May 4 and will continue until Saturday, October 12. Operation times are from 8am until 12pm. The market is located at 129 S. Railroad St. Lexington, NC 27292 at The Depot (across from Southern Lunch). Parking is adjacent.

What to expect opening day: Strawberry Day will be the opening day theme. At 10am, there will be samples of homemade strawberry ice cream and jam available for patrons from some of the different vendors. A group of local musicians will be providing the morning soundtrack during their “Jam Session.”

“We’re excited for the 2024 Market Season” said LFM President Jennifer Rosecrans. “We have worked hard over the winter to diversify the market offerings to make a more exciting and colorful experience. This year our customers can expect to see many of their favorite vendors as well as some new farmers, bakers and artisans. For example, we will have a new coffee roaster, Bush Hill Coffee, and a few new bakers and farmers.”

Additionally, Lexington Farmers Market will also be hosting a mid-day market on Wednesdays at Parkway Plaza (in between Planet Fitness and The Dollar Tree) from 11:30am to 2pm beginning Wednesday, June 12th until mid-August.

Both markets will accept SNAP EBT. Recipients of SNAP benefits (also known as food stamps) can double their spending power at the market. For every SNAP dollar, customers will receive $2 in tokens to spend with vendors. Recipients can double up to $20 of SNAP benefits per day. To swipe a SNAP EBT card in exchange for tokens, see the market manager on duty.
