Business hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Patients can check in online or call (336) 565-5001 for appointments. Walk-ins are welcome.

Dr. Matthew Blanchard of Greensboro, who is a member of the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians, is the owner and medical director of the facility.

A Louisiana native, Blanchard graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados. He has worked in urgent care practices for the past seven years, including four years in Baton Rouge and three in Randolph County.

Blanchard grew up in a rural area of Louisiana and chose Lexington for his urgent care practice because he likes small towns and the need for medical services is greater in more rural areas.

“And I like the variety of cases in urgent care,” he shared. “It’s orthopedics and general medical procedures — from pediatrics to geriatrics. It’s a little of everything.”

Pinnacle Urgent Care occupies 3,000 square feet of space in the new building on Cotton Grove Road, which also has 1,360 square feet of space available for lease. Blanchard currently has 14 staff members.

“One of the core values of urgent care is to treat each patient like family — that’s important to me,” he said of the family-owned and operated practice.

Pinnacle offers on-site EKG and X-ray services, Covid testing and a wide variety of traditional urgent care services to address issues such as asthma; bronchitis/pneumonia; bladder infections, kidney stones; food poisoning/stomach bugs; pediatrics (three months and up); physicals for school, sports and pre-employment; and sinus, ear and throat infections. Procedures performed at the facility include everything from laceration repair and fracture care/splinting to ingrown nail removal. For employers, Pinnacle offers occupational health services, worker’s compensation, employee physicals and drug screening.

Insurances currently accepted include Aetna, Cigna, MedCost, Medicare, Tricare and UnitedHealthcare. Insurances in negotiations include Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, Medicaid, People’s Health and United Medical Resources (UMR).

Just down Lowes Boulevard from Pinnacle a 3,564-square-foot Truliant Federal Credit Union building is under construction at 170 Lowes Blvd. with plans to open in October.

The credit union will be staffed by five employees and offer dedicated parking, a drive-thru window as well as 24-hour walk-up ATM access.

This will be the first office in Davidson County and the 37th office for the Winston-Salem-based not-for-profit financial institution owned by members.

“For many years, we’ve had a strong base of members in Davidson County,” said Kim Alderman, Truliant’s vice president, member experience. “We look forward to building deeper connections in the area and offering more convenient access to Truliant’s services.”

Chartered in 1952, the federal credit union provides financial guidance and services to more than 300,000 members at more than 30 locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia and has more than $4 billion in assets.

Also relatively new to the area is Mavis Tires and Brakes, which opened four months ago at 1 Lowe’s Blvd. on a parcel that was previously occupied by a Pizza Hut.

The restaurant building was razed to make way for Mavis, which is one of the largest independent multi-brand tire retailers in the United States with more than 850 locations, primarily on the East Coast. The fast-growing chain has locations in High Point, Salisbury and Clemmons.

Mavis Tires and Brakes offers tire sales, tire repair, tire rotation, wheel alignment and balance check along with automotive services such as brake check, battery check, front end check, oil changes, wiper blades and shocks/struts/suspension.

 Business hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
