DaiTrell, the circle leads him home, Sept 20th celebration
Some stories don’t end, they circle back. For Lexington’s own DaiTrell, the circle leads him home. Ten years after releasing his debut album The Journey, the independent R&B/Soul artist is stepping back onto a hometown stage not just to perform but to celebrate the road that made him.
On Saturday, September 20, at 7 p.m., Arts | Theatre 202 will transform into more than a venue. It will be a gathering place for family, friends, and a community that remembers when DaiTrell first began to sing his truth here in Davidson County.
The night has all the makings of something special. A red carpet welcome. A documentary that peels back the curtain on The Journey. A live conversation where supporters can ask their own questions. And then, of course, the music. The songs that carried him from open mics to the House of Blues in Houston, from coffee shops to community festivals, from the wide world back to North Main Street.
“After moving away for 7 years on this journey, being back home to celebrate this milestone feels like coming full circle,” DaiTrell said. “This is where my journey began, and I’m grateful to share this moment with my family, friends, and the community that supports and nourishes the arts.”
True to his independent spirit, admission is “Pay What You Can.” No velvet ropes. No ticket prices to keep folks out. Just a wide-open door for anyone who believes in the power of music and community.
Over the past decade, DaiTrell’s voice has become known for its tenderness and fire. Healing songs. Love songs. Songs that speak to the soul. His artistry has been recognized with awards, residencies, and, most recently, an “Anchor” Award from Arts Davidson County for his contributions to the local arts scene.
But this night is not about accolades. It is about homecoming. It is about the kind of music that remembers where it came from, even after years of wandering.
