Let the 2026 Senior Games and SilverArts Begin


Davidson County, NC – In Davidson County, Senior Games and SilverArts is an exciting sports and arts festival exclusively for men and women who are residents of Davidson County and are 50 and better in age. It features events in over 20 different sports and five creative/literary and performing art categories. Davidson County Senior Games is sanctioned by North Carolina Senior Games, Inc.

The 2026 local games will be held April 14 – May 21 and has something for everyone. The athletic portion of the competition includes:  Basketball Shoot, Bocce, Bowling, Checkers, Croquet, Track and Field events (softball/football throws, long jumps, discus, shotput, and running), Golf, Horseshoes, Pickleball, Power Walking, One Mile Fun Walk, Mini Golf, Spincasting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Soccer Kick, and Cornhole. The SilverArts portion includes Literary (essays, poetry, etc.), Visual (photography, painting, etc.), Heritage (woodworking, crocheting, etc.) and the Performing Arts (dance, musical, comedy/drama), all of which are showcased at the annual Follies Show, this year held on Thursday, April 16 at the Edward C. Smith Civic Center in Lexington. An Arts Showcase will be held on Monday, May 4, at the Senior Services Lexington location to showcase the SilverArts entries. Athletes compete in eleven age divisions for men and women: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99 and 100+. A $14.00 entry fee includes unlimited events (golf, mini golf, and bowling have additional fees), an invitation to the opening and closing ceremony banquets, a T-shirt, and a goody bag. 

Special thanks to the Davidson County, Thomasville and Lexington Parks and Recreation Departments who, along with Senior Services, have presented the local games since 1989. The games have grown from 25 athletes/artists to over 250. Cooperative efforts have enabled athletes and artists to continue their dedication to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

Entry information and applications are available at the Davidson County, Lexington and Thomasville Recreation Departments, the Senior Centers in Thomasville and Lexington, Thomasville, and Lexington YMCA. Applications may be submitted online at https://torch.ncseniorgames.org. Entry deadline is March 16. Late applications will not be accepted.
