The vibrant spirit of Juneteenth will once again illuminate Lexington/Davidson County as the 6th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Celebration takes center stage on Thursday, June 19, 2025. This momentous occasion, marking the historical emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States, promises to be an immersive experience of culture, music, food, and heritage for all who attend.

Orchestrated by Anything For Our Youth Group, Inc., in partnership with the talented musician DaiTrell, Arts Davidson County, and the Black Butterfly Network - Lexington, this celebration is set to be a remarkable gathering of community and remembrance. Held at the Arts | Theatre 202, located at 202 N. Main St., Lexington, NC, the festivities will unfold from noon to 5 p.m., providing a full afternoon dedicated to honoring and exploring the rich tapestry of African American history and culture.

Attendees can anticipate a diverse array of activities designed to engage and entertain individuals of all ages. The celebration will feature an impressive lineup of live performances, showcasing local talent and providing a platform for artistic expression. A Youth DJ showcase will offer a glimpse into the next generation of musical innovators, while a Step team performance will captivate audiences with its precision and energy.

A particularly compelling aspect of the event is the Freedom Mural Project, a collaborative artistic endeavor that promises to leave a lasting legacy within the community. Additionally, a marketplace will highlight the ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit of Black-owned businesses and artists, offering a unique opportunity to support local talent and discover handcrafted treasures.

The success of the 6th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Celebration is made possible through the generous support of various sponsors, including Lexington Utilities, serving as the Heritage Sponsor. Other notable sponsors include Arts Davidson County, Justice for Charles McNeair, Black Butterfly Network - Lex, and the Food Lion Feeds Foundation, all of whom share a commitment to fostering community and celebrating cultural heritage.
