Wanda Cox issued a statement to Davidson Local on behalf of the Advocates for Charles McNeair after the Lexington City Council voted unanimously during closed session Monday evening to issue a resolution of support for the release of Charles McNeair.
Nearly 30 supporters traveled from Lexington to the state capital on Saturday, March 25 to raise awareness about the incarceration of Charles McNeair.
Lexington native, Charles McNeair, has been imprisoned since November 26, 1979.
Approximately 30 supporters of Charles McNeair gathered on the steps of the Davidson County Courthouse, in the rain, on Thursday afternoon to raise awareness about what they view as an ‘injustice in the justice system.’
