Multiple agencies responded to the scene around 9 p.m. Crook was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said two other people were shot during the incident. They were identified as Crook’s estranged husband, an off-duty Lexington firefighter, and her boyfriend. Guns belonging to both men were found at the scene. According to the SBI, Crook’s estranged husband remained in critical condition following the shooting, while her boyfriend was expected to recover.
A visitation for Crook was held Friday evening at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
On Saturday, a funeral procession traveled from Briggs Funeral Home to Piedmont Funeral Home in Lexington, escorted by more than 100 law enforcement officers and first responders from across the state. Community members lined the streets as the procession passed, many standing in silence to honor Crook’s service.
A flag-draped casket was escorted through downtown Lexington, where flags remained at half-staff. Officers stood at attention along Main Street, and the service included a 21-gun salute conducted by members of the Lexington Police Department.
