Thomasville Community Foundation Announces 2026 Community Grant Opportunities

Thomasville, NC — The Thomasville Community Foundation is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for its 2026 Community Grant Program, providing funding to support projects that strengthen the Thomasville community.

Established in 1945, the Thomasville Community Foundation works with local organizations and individuals to provide resources that address a wide range of current and future charitable needs in the Thomasville area. Grants are intended to support programs and initiatives that demonstrate measurable community impact.

Eligible nonprofit organizations may apply for grants averaging approximately $3,000. Projects should clearly demonstrate community benefit and include measurable outcomes.

To be eligible for consideration, organizations must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

  • Hold a current North Carolina Solicitation License

  • Have filed IRS Form 990 for the prior fiscal year

  • Maintain a board of directors with at least three members, with at least two unrelated

Organizations that do not meet these requirements may still apply if they partner with an eligible nonprofit serving as a fiscal sponsor.

The application requires a detailed project description including the amount requested, anticipated community impact, evaluation methods, action steps, project partners, and a project budget with other funding sources.

Funding is not available for capital campaigns or construction projects, debt retirement, direct financial support to individuals, endowment funds, travel or conferences, book publications, projects typically funded by government entities, fundraising events, or activities promoting political or religious advocacy.

The application deadline is Friday, April 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by June 30, 2026, with grant awards distributed by August 31, 2026. Funded organizations will be required to submit a report detailing project outcomes by March 31, 2027.
