Davidson County Public Library Offers Free Replacement Cards During National Library Card Sign-Up Month

For Immediate Release:

This September, Davidson County Public Library will offer free replacement library cards in observation of National Library Card Sign-Up Month.

The theme for this year is “One Card, Endless Possibilities,” highlighting the multifaceted use of a library card. Davidson County Public Library cards provide not only books and DVDs/BluRays for checkout, they also allow access to digital resources/databases for both education and entertainment, along with experience passes to the NC Zoo and Kaleideum children’s museum.

“A library card provides access to a wealth of resources that can make learning not just easier, but also fun. World Book Online, Freegal Music, Kanopy (video streaming) and NC Live are just a sampling. Teachers, students, parents, homeschoolers, and anyone who wants to learn can access all these resources by simply signing up for a library card,” said Sheila Killebrew, Library Director.

The library system has a total of five branches across the county, in Lexington, Thomasville, North Davidson (Welcome), Denton, and West Davidson (Tyro). A bookmobile and the Davidson County Historical Museum are also part of the library. For more information, visit the library website at https://www.co.davidson.nc.us/274/Library.
