Lexington Man Faces Multiple Animal Cruelty Charges

Press Release: Lexington, NC – September 15, 2025 – On September 8th LPD received a report of animal abuse at 209 Foy Avenue. During the investigation officers discovered several cats in poor condition as well as a deceased cat. They were all seized and turned over to the Davidson County Animal Shelter. Below is arrest and charging information following consultation with the district attorney’s office.

Jason Carter, age 48, of Foy Avenue, Lexington, was arrested and was given a $4,500.00 unsecured bond. Carter’s court date is set for October 8,2025. Charges that Carter faces include: 9 counts of cruelty to animals, 9 counts of abandonment of an animal, 9 counts of failing to vaccinate and 1 count of hoarding animals.
