Authorities allege under aged man asleep behind the wheel was driving under the influence, carrying firearms

On June 28, 2025 at about 5:30 am Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, T.R.A.C.E. Team, while assisting the Patrol Division, responded to a report of a driver passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the roadway near W. US Hwy 64 and Koontz Road, Lexington. Upon arrival Detectives located the vehicle and found the driver, identified as Micah Carter of Mocksville unconscious behind the wheel with the engine running and his foot on the brake.

Detectives were able to safely wake Micah and during the investigation arrested him for Driving While Impaired, provisional license under 21, carrying a concealed weapon and open container. During a vehicle search Detectives seized two firearms. Micah is scheduled to appear in Davidson County Court on July 30, 2025.
