From the Desk of State Senator Steve Jarvis: June 20th is the 23rd Newsletter of 2025
Dear Friends,
I hope you are staying cool and enjoying the extra daylight hours when things cool off at dusk this week!
Whew, things have heated up with our summer season and our pace at the General Assembly this week! We have held so many committee meetings and heard so many bills that have been pushing through in the weeks since crossover.
Congratulations to our NC Art Educators' Contest winners! This contest is held annually and the winners who make the trek to Raleigh are treated to a display of their art and special attention from their legislative members. I enjoyed meeting Makayla and Molly's families and art teachers!
A detailed list is provided below of the Senate actions and committee meetings that I was a part of. The bills are linked for easy access to educate yourself on the legislative content. As always, changes can occur to schedules and bill language during the height of Long session, so in order to stay up-to-date, you are welcome to keep an eye on things using this link.
In local news, both Davie and Davidson Counties released their election filing deadlines. I have included their media releases as a resource for you.
The American Children's Home in Lexington is celebrating 100 years of service to the children and families in our area this summer. Try to check out their Open House this Saturday and enjoy the fun and festive atmosphere. I hope to see you there!
Warm Regards,
Senator Steve Jarvis,
NC District 30
