Injured kitten highlights need for Rabies vaccination

On Monday, September 12, 2022, the Davidson County Health Department received lab results from the State Lab of Public Health confirming a positive rabies case in Denton. The Davidson County Health Department will host a rabies vaccination clinic on September 22, 2022 at the Davidson County Health Department. The clinic will provide vaccines from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Animals must be at least 3 months of age to be eligible and vaccines will cost $9 per animal.

Grace Episcopal Church open registration for youth chorus

Registration fees are $180 (which includes a t-shirt) for the 12-week fall semester and parents can register their children online through the Arts Academy at Grace website. Owens and Minor golf tournament benefits United Way of Davidson County

Owens & Minor and United Way of Davidson County are teaming up once again to host their 2022 golf tournament on Friday, September 9th, at Lexington Golf Club, 200 Country Club Blvd, Lexington, North Carolina.

The tournament will be a four-person captain’s choice format. This year there will be morning and afternoon rounds starting at 8:45 am and 1:30 pm. Check-in for each round will be 30 minutes prior to the start. The cost is $75 per person or $300 per team. This price includes lunch, one mulligan per player per side, and one tee buster per player per round. If we see enough interest, we will add an afternoon round to avoid slow play. The deadline for registration is August 31.

The Wilkerson Family honored by Civitan District

Robert, Lori and Stephanie Wilkerson of Davidson County were honored as the 2021-22 Distinguished Civitan Family by North Carolina District West Civitan. Criteria for the family award include activities in Civitan, church and community. The district also presented Stephanie Wilkerson with The Honor Key Award for 2022.
