The Salvation Army’s 2022 Angel Tree program is officially kicking off November 1 st . This year The Salvation Army of Davidson County has committed to providing gifts to almost 1,100 children and over 400 families. The Angel Tree Program provides new clothing and toys for children of families in need through the support of community donors.
Throughout the month of November, Hospice of Davidson County will join organizations across the nation in providing community education in recognition of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month (NHPCM). This year’s NHPCM theme is “meeting you where you are.”

The mission is to show support for Veterans of all military conflicts, with a special emphasis on the Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as raise awareness about the challenges faced by many Veterans and the resources that are available at the county, state, and federal level to assist Veterans and their families.
In a relatively short period of time, they have grown to the point that they have almost 2500 members. Courtney and April had a vision that could see past the size of the city, and the already existing entertainment venues, and take a leap of faith that Lexington was ready for and would embrace this type of establishment.

There are numerous ways to entertain your entire family while attending The Lexington Barbecue Festival. From countless Artisans displaying their unique wares to headlining stage performances and of course the main lure, the legendary Lexington barbecue. One of my favorite attractions at The Lexington Barbecue Festival for over the past twenty years has been the custom sand sculpture which is always created on the lawn of the historic former Post Office at the corner of South Main Street and West Third Avenue.

The annual Halloween Safe Alternative Youth Party festivities is hosted by Anything For Our Youth Group & American Legion Post #255 (Lexington, NC). This event is intended to provide a safe environment for youth, as well as parents who want their kids to dress up and enjoy Halloween, trick or treating, with safety in mind.
