Join us at Lake Thom-A-Lex Saturday from 4pm to 7pm for an afternoon of free fishing and kayaking..
The Friends of the Library will start collecting (and selling) books, CDs, DVDs, etc. the last Saturday in every month at the Library Annex, 612 S. Main St. in back of the main library.
We will paddle and collect litter on the beautiful stretch of Abbotts Creek that connects the City of Lexington to High Rock Lake.
Two job fairs in the coming weeks will feature close to 70 companies ready to hire new workers, and Davidson-Davie Community College is inviting members of the public to participate if they are looking for work.

The Empowering the Future Scholarship is open to high school seniors in our 19 county service area who are planning to attend a college, university, or technical school during the 2023-24 school year. Applications will be accepted until March 31, 2023.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is currently registering people for the Citizen’s Academy, a once-a-week session from 6:30 to 9 p.m. from March 7 to May 2. This program is free but you must be registered to attend.
The Triad Chill is returning with a unique fundraising opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support Special Olympics NC by jumping into the frigid water at Wet’n Wild Emerald Pointe on Feb. 25.
On Saturday, Feb 25th over 25 local retailers and restaurants will be discounting their items at least 10%. Tourism will have free face painting in the Depot from 10:00 – 12:00.
