Around 1:45 pm on Sunday, May 29th, the Lexington Fire Department responded to a reported trash can on fire in a duplex apartment.
This Memorial Day, say a prayer for a Gold Star family but start thinking of ways we can utilize the expertise of a veteran to truly start honoring our fallen.
Firefighters arrived at 5:32 pm to find smoke and flames. Crews quickly began extinguishing the fire and searching for possible victims. All occupants had exited the house before the fire department's arrival. However, one occupant, an adult male, had suffered some smoke inhalation. He was treated and transported to Wake Forrest Baptist – Lexington Medical Center by Davidson County EMS.
Organizers invite the public to come out to Downtown Thomasville on Monday, May 30th at 9:00am the our annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade will start at The Big Chair and go down Salem Street towards Memorial Park Dr. This event is hosted by the NC Memorial Day Parade Committee. The Grand Marshal for this year is Lt. Governor Mark Robinson.
Lisa Hathaway, a former special education teacher at Lexington Senior High School (LSHS), has shared with Davidson Local that she will be the new Ward 4 representative on the Lexington City Schools Board of Education.
On April 18, the Thomasville City Council adopted a resolution to covert the Thomasville City Schools Board of Education positions from appointed to elected. The first election will take place on November 7, 2023.

Voting sites are coming to a ward near you with more than 30 regular polling locations opening for the election. Note that the Davidson County Board of Elections will not be an election day option.
Each recipient must be a graduating senior accepted to a four-year institution (College or University). The student must write a minimum of 250 words describing how they have promoted human equality in their settings.

On May 1, 2022, at approximately 6:04 pm, Lexington Fire Department responded to a residential fire on Eastside Drive. A few hours later, at 10:43 pm, crews responded to a residential structure fire on Pond Street.
