Couple finds hope and compassion after fire

Exactly one week after the fire, Tuesday, June 22, at 7 a.m., Ron VanLandingham, called C.I.A - Compassion Inspiring Action, a nonprofit organization committed to helping those in need in the community. Within a few hours, in the driveway of what they had called home for more than five months, stood the young couple, Michael and Johnson, with Davis, Miller and the charred remains of a home.

Jon W. Myers will serve as District Court Judge in Judicial District 22B. He will fill the seat vacated by the Hon. Wayne Michael who retired in February. Myers has worked as a solo practitioner at Jon W. Myers, Attorney at Law in Lexington, North Carolina since 1992. Myers earned his Bachelor of Arts at Wake Forest University, his Master of Business Administration at Wake Forest University Babcock Graduate School of Management and his Juris Doctor at Wake Forest University of School of Law. Governor Roy Cooper appointed Myers to serve in Judicial District 22B, which serves Davidson and Davie counties.
