Lexington Fire Department was dispatched to 307-B West 5th Ave. at 8:41 pm last night for a residential apartment fire. The fire is currently under investigation by the City of Lexington Fire Marshal’s Office, but no injuries were reported.

A Spirit Week celebration at Central Davidson High School has triggered controversy with students, parents and the community. Officials at CDHS called this a misunderstanding. During the course of Spirit Week, daily activities were planned by students and approved by advisors. Wednesday’s theme was promoted as American Day according to the school’s website.
