Thomasville Memorial Day Parade, ceremonies set for this weekend

Organizers invite the public to come out to Downtown Thomasville on Monday, May 30th at 9:00am the our annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade will start at The Big Chair and go down Salem Street towards Memorial Park Dr. This event is hosted by the NC Memorial Day Parade Committee. The Grand Marshal for this year is Lt. Governor Mark Robinson.

Local Girl Scout brings teen PRIDE Parade to Lexington

The Teen Pride Parade will be on Saturday, June 4. Here’s how it will go: At 1 p.m., participants will gather at the historic St. Stephen United Methodist Church’s lawn to make signs that express their beliefs during the walk. At 2 p.m., they’ll walk on the sidewalks in uptown Lexington. Then, they’ll return to the First Reformed United Church of Christ (FRUCC) Fellowship Hall at 3 p.m. to hear from speakers—including Rev. Elizabeth Horton, Rev. Dr. Arnetta Beverly, a representative from PFLAG, and Miller herself—as well as engage in community building activities. Snacks will be provided.

Lexington Chamber Membership Services Manager pursues new career path

The Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce would like to announce that after almost three years of outstanding service Jessica McDaniel, Membership Services Manager, has chosen to pursue a new career path with Davidson Speed Printing, which her family recently purchased. Her last day will be Friday, May 27, 2022.
