Thomasville Fire & Rescue graciously received the donation of multiple Autism Response Kits from the Greensboro Firefighter’s Charitable Foundation today. These kits will provide Thomasville’s neurodivergent population the comfort and education they need to help prevent unnecessary stress and anxiety on emergency scenes.
Johnny Leroy Dawkins Jr, who was murdered in 2008 as a result of gun violence. The annual fish fry has become our signature fundraising event. The community looks forward to the fish fry each year. As a result of the fundraiser we have been able to award 2-3 scholarships annually in the amount of $500 each, awarding over $12,000 in scholarships. Our mission is to continue to honor the legacy of our loved one by providing scholarship awards to males - African American, Indigenous, and People of Color - upon graduating high school for the purpose of pursuing a higher education while joining the fight against gun violence.
