The Davidson County Republican Women will sponsor The Conservative Conversations Cookout on Saturday, July 17th. Power outage temporarily halts election filings
A power outage at The Davidson County BOE has temporarily halted election fillings. BOE staff says updated filings will be posted online on Monday.

Lexington council reviews budget proposals
Lexington council was presented the proposed city of Lexington Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2021-22 by the city manager at the May 24 City Council meeting. The budget is now on file in the city clerk’s office where it is available for public review. City council called for a public hearing to be held on June 14, 2021 at 6 p.m.
Teen Dems host food drive
Volunteer, Emma Engle, was one of several youth collecting food for the Davidson County Democratic Teens. There mission is to promote the interest of high school students and teenagers through activism and volunteering with the Democratic party.
Baker makes history as county's first African American judge
Last week, Governor Roy Cooper made a historic appointment by naming Lexington based attorney Rosalind Baker to serve as District Court Judge in Judicial District 22B. She will fill the seat vacated by the Hon. April Wood.
Governor Cooper appoints Baker and Myers as district court judges
Governor Roy Cooper today announced the appointment of two District Court Judges to serve in Judicial District 22B, which serves Davidson and Davie counties. Rosalind Baker, of Lexington, North Carolina, will serve as District Court Judge in Judicial District 22B. Jon W. Myers will serve as District Court Judge in Judicial District 22B.

Youth and diversity welcomed by local DEM party
JacQuez Johnson, a Thomasville High School alumnus, was elected chairman on Saturday during the DCDP’s County Convention. At 21 years old, Johnson holds the distinction as the youngest to chair the DCDP. He is preceded by Tina Royal, the first Black woman to hold the post.
