To mask or not to mask?
That seems to be the hot topic facing most school districts as the 2021-2022 school year approaches. Davidson County is no different. The school board had a scheduled meeting Monday and many parents showed up share their thoughts. Our new youth correspondent, Riley Elliott, was in attendance also to bring the scoop straight to our readers.

Lexington council was presented the proposed city of Lexington Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2021-22 by the city manager at the May 24 City Council meeting. The budget is now on file in the city clerk’s office where it is available for public review. City council called for a public hearing to be held on June 14, 2021 at 6 p.m.

JacQuez Johnson, a Thomasville High School alumnus, was elected chairman on Saturday during the DCDP’s County Convention. At 21 years old, Johnson holds the distinction as the youngest to chair the DCDP. He is preceded by Tina Royal, the first Black woman to hold the post.
