Firefighters arrived at 5:32 pm to find smoke and flames. Crews quickly began extinguishing the fire and searching for possible victims. All occupants had exited the house before the fire department's arrival. However, one occupant, an adult male, had suffered some smoke inhalation. He was treated and transported to Wake Forrest Baptist – Lexington Medical Center by Davidson County EMS.

A Davidson County library policy could be crossing the line after one mother alleges she was not allowed to set up her foster care display at an Easter egg hunt.
