Uptown Lexington, Inc. is excited to present the family-friendly Boo Bash from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday, October 30th, 2021. Several activities will bring the community together in a safe way including pumpkin painting, live music, courthouse lighting, a haunted house, and the best mask and costume contest.

Wreaths Across America begins local campaign
Davidson County’s Leonard’s Creek Chapter, National Daughters of the American Revolution, has launched a fundraising campaign to carry out the organization’s mission to remember, honor and teach. The campaign involves asking the public to purchase wreaths to be placed on graves of local veterans.
Now More Than Ever: Pause in October and Domestic Violence Awareness Month
According to Family Services of Davidson County, “October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we will again remember those whose lives were cut short because of domestic violence. Since 1995 Davidson County has lost 24 individuals due to fatal domestic violence occurrences.”

The Workshop of Davidson, Inc. to hold virtual annual meeting. The annual meeting of The Workshop of Davidson, Inc. will be October 21 by ZOOM at 6 p.m. Agenda items will include election of officers and members to the Board of Directors. Membership dues must be paid to be eligible to vote.

"Get Ready to Rumble" to help vets!
On Saturday, October 2, local charity BigBikes4Vets, Inc. assisted by the Rockingham Company will host “Rumble at the Depot,” a charity motorcycle and car show. The event is scheduled to take place at Bull City Ciderworks, 559 South Railroad St. in Lexington. Gates open at 1 p.m., live music kicks off at 2 p.m. and the festival will rumble throughout the evening until 10 p.m.

"Veterans are the focus" according to organizers of Confederate monument rededication
The Robert E. Lee Chapter 324, United Daughters of the Confederacy has maintained ownership of the Davidson County confederate monument since 1905. When ownership was determined and it was removed from Lexington’s square, the search began for new location. Organizers share their stories with Davidson Local.
High Rock Lake Clean Sweep
High Rock Lake Clean Sweep is an annual cleanup on High Rock Lake. The sweep collected an estimated three tons of trash from both Davidson and Rowan County on Saturday, Sept. 18. Trash drop-off sites include Southmont Wildlife Boat Access (Davidson County) and Second Dutch Creek Wildlife Boat Access (Rowan County.).
