The Women’s Guild at Mount Tabor United Church of Christ is inviting the community to shop, connect, and support a long-standing tradition of service during its upcoming church yard sale on Saturday, May 16.

The sale will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. at Mount Tabor UCC, located at 1002 E. Holly Grove Road in Lexington. Shoppers can expect a wide range of items, including household goods, home décor, children’s clothing, toys, and books, with organizers promising “much more” available throughout the morning. The event will be cash only.

The Women’s Guild has been active in ministry and community service for more than 60 years.

Throughout its history, the Guild has played a vital role in supporting both the church and the broader community. From helping furnish church facilities and supporting mission work to organizing charitable donations and local outreach efforts, the group has consistently turned fundraising into community impact.

That commitment continues today through hands-on service.Members of the Women’s Guild support the church’s monthly Backpack Program, assembling and delivering 170 individual bags filled with healthy meals for children at a local elementary school.

Fundraisers like this yard sale have long been part of that tradition. Over the years, the Guild has hosted events from church bazaars and meal sales to cookbook fundraisers and community events, all aimed at supporting ministries and charitable causes.

In addition to its service work, the Women’s Guild continues to foster fellowship among its members and the wider church family. The group meets regularly for devotionals, meals, and planning sessions, welcoming women of all ages to participate in its ongoing mission.

The May 16th yard sale offers a simple way for the community to be part of that mission, whether by shopping, connecting with neighbors, or supporting a group that aims to quietly shape generations of service in Davidson County.

For more information, community members are encouraged to contact a member of the Women’s Guild or call the church’s main office 336-249-1660.
