Hospice of Davidson County Celebrates “From Heritage to Horizon” Gala Success and Reveals Rebrand to Alderwood of Davidson County

LEXINGTON, NC (June 25, 2026) — Hospice of Davidson County welcomed community leaders, supporters, and friends to the historic Curran Alexander Vineyards on Saturday, June 13, for its 2026 signature event, From Heritage to Horizon: Honoring our Past, Toasting our Present, and Cultivating our Future.

The evening of elegance and purpose raised vital funds for their grief and bereavement counseling center while offering attendees an exclusive sneak peek into the organization’s future.

In a standout moment of the evening, leadership surprised guests by unveiling the organization's new brand identity: Alderwood of Davidson County. Attendees were given an exclusive, first-look preview of the new name, logo, and vision for expanded care prior to the official public launch on Monday, June 15. The rebrand marks a milestone evolution for the nonprofit, which has served the region for over 40 years.

“Our ‘From Heritage to Horizon’ theme was the perfect backdrop to share this monumental step forward with our close supporters,” said Laura Owen, CEO. “As Alderwood of Davidson County, we are honoring the incredible 40-year legacy of Hospice of Davidson County while broadening our horizon to ensure specialized palliative care, hospice services, and grief support are more accessible to our community.”

The unforgettable evening featured a curated culinary experience by celebrity Chef Torrece “Chef T” Gregoire, known for her appearances on Hell’s Kitchen and Beat Bobby Flay. VIP guests enjoyed an intimate pre-event gathering, a private presentation, and a signing of Chef T's book, Paradigm: A Macro Manifesto to Food.

Set against the scenic backdrop of the vineyards, guests were treated to live jazz by the Federico Pivetta Jazz Trio, fine wines, and spirited live and silent auctions. Attendees also eagerly purchased bottles of an exclusive, private label Alderwood Cabernet Sauvignon, with all proceeds directly benefiting the organization.

The excitement reached a peak during the high-energy live auction, which featured an array of premium, highly coveted packages and experiences. Bidders eagerly competed for unique opportunities, including scuba diving lessons, a private flight lesson for high-flying adventurers, a beautifully styled and fully stocked bar cart, and a luxurious getaway vacation to the scenic North Carolina coast.

The undisputed crown jewel of the auction was an exclusive, private in-home barbecue dinner prepared by celebrity Chef T herself, which sparked a friendly bidding war alongside a stunning live painting of Curran Alexander Vineyards created on-site during the event by artist Destiny West.

In addition to these experiential packages, attendees stepped forward to secure exclusive naming rights opportunities for the organization's new counseling center. Generous highlights included a $15,000 winning bid to name the center's conference room, as well as a generous $1,000 commitment to name the counseling center's upcoming garden space.

Additional naming rights opportunities within the new facility are still available; interested community members are encouraged to contact Alderwood of Davidson County for more information.

Thanks to the immense generosity of the attendees, the auction contributed significantly to the more than $30,000 raised over the course of the evening, ensuring vital funding for expanded grief and bereavement services.

All funds raised throughout the evening will directly support the Alderwood Counseling Center. The proceeds will fund expanded services and dedicated healing spaces, ensuring that local individuals and families continue to receive vital, compassionate support during life’s most challenging chapters.

For those who could not attend, the exclusive private label Alderwood Cabernet Sauvignon bottles are now available for purchase and pickup at the Alderwood of Davidson County administrative office.
