Grand Jury issues indictment for local murder
On Monday July 6, 2026, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) appeared before the Davidson County Grand Jury in reference to the murder of Michael Steven Allen, 44-year-old male, Lexington, that occurred in April of 2026.
The Grand Jury signed a true bill of indictment for Maleigha Loale Allen, 20-year-old-female, Lexington, for first degree murder.
On July 7, 2026, Allen was arrested for murder from the true bill of indictment at the Davidson County Jail. Allen received no bond and was placed back in the Davidson County Jail, and has been scheduled for Davidson County Superior Court on July 8, 2026.
Per North Carolina General Statute 15A-532, Judicial officials determine conditions for release of persons in Judicial proceedings. Bond amounts are not set by members of law enforcement. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
