A 78-year-old man has been arrested and charged with double homicide connected to an incident on Friday in northern Davidson County.
The Lexington Police Department has announced a third arrest connected to the June 7 shooting death of 19-year-old Xzavion Tyleal Booker.
Davidson County-The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Davidson County Schools and Child Protective Services, has completed an investigation concerning the welfare of several minor children following multiple reports of concern.
A Davidson County EMT and a police officer from Catawba County have been accused of accessing a government computer system to alert the suspects in an ongoing child sex abuse case.
Due to the sensitive nature of this case and the ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time.

The victim died at the scene from his injuries. He has been identified as Omarion Scott, age 21, of Lexington.

And just recently, adding to the list of devastating losses, a motor was stolen from the property. It’s not just about the monetary value; it's about the emotional and sentimental worth of these objects, each one a piece of his legacy, now gone forever.
The bicyclist is identified as Marty Dean Smith, age 53, from Lexington N.C. He remains hospitalized at Atrium Baptist hospital with serious injuries.
Robert Broadie, a Superior Court judge from Davidson County, exonerated the men in the 2002 death of Nathaniel Jones, the grandfather of NBA star Chris Paul, who now plays for the Los Angeles Clippers. They are now in their mid to late 30s; Brayboy died in 2019, a year after he was released from prison. Bryant and Tolliver were released in 2017. Cauthen and Banner have been serving life sentences.
On August 11, 2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force for the United States Marshals Service attempted to serve arrest warrants at a residence, at 1689 Old US Highway 52, Lexington, North Carolina, in Davidson County, for Jonathan V. Garcia, date of birth November 17, 1994. The arrest warrants were for felony probation violation, felony flee to elude arrest, drive with a revoked license, misdemeanor child abuse and possession of stolen goods. These arrest warrants were out of Forsyth County
A former Davidson County Sheriff’s Deputy was arrested in Salisbury on July 31 and charged with common law robbery of a bank, for a third time.
A second arrest has been made in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Jyisaiah Cuthrell, who was shot and killed on July 24th in Lexington.
The suspect now identified as Jarvis Lewis Carroll, age 21, of Lexington has been arrested without incident at 225 Tucson Way in Davidson County. He will be charged with the murder of Jyisaiah Cuthrell. The Davidson County Sheriffs Office assisted LPD at the scene of the arrest on Tucson Way.
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Charles Jenkins, 43, of Thomasville, North Carolina, pleaded guilty in Davidson County Superior Court to one count of Death by Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
The Lexington Area Crimestoppers board has approved a reward of up to $2,000 for information or tips that lead to any arrests regarding the ongoing investigation into the murder of Xzavion Booker on June 7, 2025
