Highway Patrol Seeks Help Identifying Hit-and-Run Driver and Bicyclist

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is requesting assistance in identifying a hit-and-run motorist and the identity of a person struck while riding a bicycle on Old Highway US 64 West.

On October 10, 2023, at 11:10 p.m., the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a bicycle collision on the eastbound shoulder of Old Highway US 64 West near Wholesale Alley.

A green, adult-size bicycle and the bicyclist were located on the eastbound shoulder of Old Highway US 64 West. The bicycle had substantial damage and the operator was located approximately 20 feet away from the bicycle.

The bicyclist was transported to Atrium Baptist Hospital with serious injuries. He is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with gray hair.
