Davidson County Sheriff’s Office T.R.A.C.E. Team Arrests Multiple Suspects during Felony Conspiracy Investigation

Davidson County, NC – On February 17, 2026, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Traffic & Criminal Enforcement Team initiated an investigation following a report of stolen copper from communication lines in the area of 10281 South North Carolina Highway 109, Lexington. The investigation was conducted in collaboration with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Urban Interdiction Team. Through joint efforts, investigators identified four suspects believed to be involved in the cutting and removal of communication lines. The suspects were identified as Donald Eugene Lake, 47 of Asheboro, Bryan Alexander Rose, 57 of Asheboro, Jimmy Darrell Stewart, 46 of Asheboro, and Teme Keovorabouth, 50 of Lexington.

Donald Lake, Bryan Rose, and Teme Keovorabouth were arrested and charged with felony conspiracy, felony larceny, injury to property to obtain nonferrous metals, injury to utility wires and fixtures, and misdemeanor possession and transportation of copper. Rose and Keovorabouth were given a $100,000 secured bond and are scheduled to appear in court in April 2026. Lake was not given a bond due to being on pre-trial release for an unrelated charge and is scheduled to appear in court in April 2026. Stewart has not been located, and is wanted by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, and detectives are pursuing his apprehension.

Per North Carolina General Statute 15A-532, judicial officials determine for the release of persons in judicial proceedings. Bond amounts are not set by members of law enforcement. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
