Joint Law Enforcement Operation Results in Arrests and Recovery of Stolen Property

December 30, 2025, as part of a collaborative effort, detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Traffic and Criminal Enforcement (T.R.A.C.E.) Team, Criminal Investigations Division, the Patrol Division and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Urban Criminal Interdiction Team executed a search warrant at 5875 Mendenhall Road Extension in Archdale in reference to a multi-jurisdictional theft investigation. During the search, detectives recovered numerous items of horse tack equipment that had been reported stolen during a breaking and entering in Davidson County in November 2025. Detectives also recovered tires stolen during a separate larceny in Randolph County. Further investigation at the residence led to the seizure of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. As a result, Bobby Gales III, age 41, and Christa Braswell, age 39, both of the residence, were arrested. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Urban Criminal Interdiction Team charged Gales with: Possession of methamphetamine and drug Paraphernalia. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office additionally charged Gales with: Felony breaking and entering, Larceny after breaking and entering, Felony possession of stolen property and Obtaining property by false pretense.

Gales was also served with an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear on a possession of stolen property charge out of Randolph County. Braswell was arrested by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding order for arrest for probation violation. Gales was placed in the Davidson County Jail under no bond.

Braswell was placed in the Randolph County Jail under a $40,400 secured bond. Both individuals are scheduled to appear in court on December 31, 2025. Additional charges will be forthcoming regarding this investigation.

Per North Carolina General Statute 15A-532, Judicial Officials determine conditions for the release of persons involved in judicial proceedings. Bond amounts are not set by law enforcement. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
