Two Arrested for Construction Site Thefts in Davidson County; Children Involved
During the month of July 2025, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports regarding the theft of building materials from residential construction sites, particularly those involving newly constructed homes. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division conducted an investigation, which led to the arrest of two suspects, Guillermo Trujillo Garcia and Kayla Danielle Hernandez. Further investigation revealed that the suspects enlisted the help of their juvenile children in carrying out the thefts.
On July 16, 2025, Guillermo Trujillo Garcia was arrested and charged with felony larceny and felony possession of stolen property from a construction site and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Garcia is currently being held at the Davidson County Detention Center under no bond, due to pretrial release conditions.
On July 17, 2025, Kayla Danielle Hernandez was arrested and charged with felony larceny, felony possession of stolen property from a construction site and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Kayla Danielle Hernanez is being held at the Davidson County Detention Center under no bond, due to pretrial release conditions.
Both Garcia and Hernandez have a scheduled a court date of August 11, 2025, in the Davidson County District Court.
