Fire Marshal Releases Findings on Kimberly Lane Fatal Fire Nov. 25th

On November 25, 2025, at approximately 4:30 AM, a fire occurred at 320 Kimberly Lane in Lexington, NC 27292. The Davidson County Fire Investigation Task Force investigated the fire's origin and cause, with preliminary findings indicating the fire started in a motorhome parked next to a single-family residence and subsequently spread to the residence.

The Davidson County Fire Marshals' Office, along with the Davidson County Fire Investigation Task Force, has exhausted all efforts to determine the cause of the fire. Throughout the investigation, investigators have determined that the most probable cause of the fire was an unspecified failure of the refrigerator inside the motorhome.

The involved agencies include the South Lexington Fire Department, the City of Lexington Fire Department, the Southmont Fire Department, the Linwood Fire Department, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Davidson County EMS, the Davidson County Fire Marshal’s Office, the Davidson County Rescue Squad, the American Red Cross, the North Carolina Department of Insurance, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
