Police search of man who is wanted for assault on a law enforcement officer

Public Safety Notice: LPD Search for Suspect in South Lexington

LPD is currently in search of Andrew Brackman who is wanted for assault on a law enforcement officer. Brackman is on foot in the south end of Lexington on the stretch of Cotton Grove Rd/NC Highway 8 from Plaza Parkway to Highway 47. This has caused for an increased police presence in the south end of the city.

Brackman is wearing a black tank top (was seen this morning in a white t-shirt), blue jeans and has a black beard. Brackman has a history with weapons, but it has not been determined whether he is armed at the moment. Anyone who sees Brackman should call 911 immediately.
