Davidson County Schools quote state rules "Remote learning will not be an option'

From Davidson County Schools

As we experience another round of winter weather this weekend, we want to share an important update about the impact on our school calendar moving forward.

State law allows school districts to use a maximum of five (5) remote learning days per school year. Our district used the final allowable remote learning day during last week’s winter storm. As a result, if inclement weather requires us to close schools again, remote learning will not be an option. Any additional closures will be traditional school closure days and handled according to the district calendar and state requirements.

We know weather-related disruptions can be challenging for families, and we appreciate your understanding as we prioritize student safety while following state mandates and meeting instructional requirements. We will continue to communicate promptly with families as decisions are made.

In the meantime, enjoy the snow, stay warm, and if you can, build a snowman for us!
