Press Release: Davidson County Library Launches “Reading with Ringling” Program for Kids

In partnership with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, the Davidson County Public Library System is inviting children ages 2–12 to join its Reading with Ringling program now through February 2, 2024.

Young readers who complete five books can earn a free child’s ticket (with the purchase of one full-price adult ticket) to the circus’ North American tour stop at the Greensboro Coliseum the weekend of February 2–4, 2024.

Performance options include:

  • Friday, Feb. 2 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m.

  • Sunday, Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

To participate, families should visit any Davidson County Library branch to sign up and receive a Reward Club Card. Each time a child reads a book, library staff will stamp the card. After five stamps, parents or guardians can take the completed card to the Greensboro Coliseum box office to redeem it for one free child’s ticket.

Cards must be redeemed by February 2, and each family may claim up to two free children’s tickets.

“We are happy to once again partner with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus to promote reading and a night of fun with family at the circus,” said Sheila Killebrew, Library Director.

For more details, check the back of the Reward Club Card, call 1-800-844-3585 (Option 0, 2, or 3) Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. or Saturday, 8 a.m.–12 p.m. (EST), or visit feldentertainment.com/customer-service.

The Davidson County Public Library System includes five branches — Lexington, Thomasville, North Davidson, Denton, and West Davidson — as well as the Davidson County Historical Museum and a system-wide bookmobile.
