Davidson County fire departments respond to fire last Saturday

On Saturday, January 29th, at approximately 0715hrs, the Davidson county communication center  received a 911 call for a structure fire at 5 Estates Dr in Lexington. West Lexington Fire department and  multiple other Davidson County Fire departments responded to the scene. West Lexington Fire  Department apparatus and personnel arrived on the scene and reported a manufactured home with fire  showing from the exterior. Firefighters quickly deployed fire attack lines when there were informed of a  baby being trapped inside the structure. Firefighters quickly entered the home and removed the baby.  The mother, baby, and three other children were rushed to the hospital by Davidson County Emergency  Services. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.  

Investigators from the Davidson County Fire Marshal’s Office, North Carolina State Bureau of  Investigation, and Office of the State Fire Marshal conducted the investigation. The fire was determined  to have been related to the operation of an electric space heater.

*Note from Davidson Local - We inquired about the status of the residents rescued from the fire. Per Assistant Fire Marshal John Webster, per the family’s request, he is unable to provide any additional information.
